Firefly: 7 Years Running Video

An animated data visualization video created for the ChinaVis 2024 Arts Program (at HKUST). From 2017 to 2024, approximately 5,000 hours of GPS running logs across every corner of Hong Kong were animated to depict the island's mountain trails. Using Gaussian intensity rendering in p5.js, the motion trails pulse like glowing fireflies in the night sky.
